At All Saints, we follow a PSHE scheme called Jigsaw which runs from Nursery to Year 6. It is a mindful approach, bringing together Personal, Social, Health Education, emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development in a comprehensive scheme of learning.
Our school uses a set of Jigsaw Friends, Jerrie Cats and Chimes as well as our class journal to record our learning. We use our focuses during assemblies as well as celebrations.
There are six puzzles (units) for the year including:
- BM(Being Me in My World)
‘Who am I and how do I fit?’ - CD (Celebrating Difference)
Respect for similarity and difference. Anti-bullying and being unique - DG (Dreams and Goals)
Aspirations, how to achieve goals and understanding the emotions that go with this - HM (Healthy Me)
Being and keeping safe and healthy - RL (Relationships)
Building positive, healthy relationships - CM Coping positively with change –At All Saints, we use ‘A Journey in Love’ which is the recommended programme of study for Catholic schools for Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE), and has been written as a progressive scheme of work that supports Religious Education, PSHE and Science taught within school.
