Here in the Willow room, we offer additional or different support to children
who struggle to be in the mainstream classroom full time. In the Willow room
we have practitioners who are fully trained in supporting those children and
making sure they reach the best of their potential.
In the Willow room the children will participate in sensory circuits, bucket
therapy, activities and experiences to suit the individual needs of the child. We
offer a structured provision which allows the children to play and explore in a
calming environment. Our practitioners work with children in small groups or
on a 1:1 basis to support the child’s individual needs and development.
The practitioner’s complete social communication and play journals which help
them to closely monitor a child’s progress and development. We also
Wellcomm screen our children. Wellcomm is a speech and language
assessment tool created by speech and language therapists. This assessment
allows us to see if each individual child requires extra support or referrals to
speech and language therapy.
The Willow room work in partnership with outside agencies so that the
children in our setting are receiving the best possible care and support.
