Trip to Formby Beach and Southport Eco Centre

5M had a fabulous time at the Eco Centre and Formby beach today! We enjoyed a very informative tour from one of the rangers, Darren Lloyd. We learnt all about coastal change and how erosion is changing our coast. Did you know that Formby is loosing 4 metres of sand dunes every year? Back at the Eco Centre, we put all our new learning into a presentation – watch this space, these will be uploaded here soon! 100_4665 100_4666 100_4668 100_4672 100_4673 100_4674 100_4675 100_4676 100_4678 100_4679 100_4680 100_4681

Let’s ‘Go Viking’!

Today, Year 5 enjoyed a visit from two ‘real’ Vikings, Sven and Njal. They spent the whole day with us, teaching us about Viking life, Viking raids, Longboats and battles. Take a look at our photographs to see what we got up to!

Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Concert

Today Year 5 had the exciting opportunity of going to a concert at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. We heard music that was centred around the theme of “Revolution”. Each piece was written by a different composer who embodied revolutionary concepts during the time when they lived. The style of music ranged from Bach to the Beatles and we even got to participate in a few of the songs by singing and dancing! It was a wonderful afternoon of music and culture!IMG_5514

Rain Forest Project Winners!

As part of our topic on ‘The Americas’, Year 5 were given the challenge to create a project based on any aspect of the rain forest. Look at how creative and interesting our projects are!

Everyone who took part should be very proud of themselves, and has also received stickers for their ‘independence’ and ‘creativity’ sections of their superhero bookmarks. Well done everyone! We are so proud of all the projects!
