After a very busy term, here are some pictures to share of some of the activities the children have been involved in.
1960s dress up day: Groovy!!
What a fun day was had by all yesterday at Imagine That. The children had a great day learning and laughing. It was a well earned reward for all the hard work done this year. Thank you to the Parent’s Association who paid for the trip.
This is the last blog for this year so thanks for all of your support over the year. They have been a wonderful class and I will miss them all. Happy holiday!
The sun came out yesterday morning (so did parents/grandparents – thanks for your support) for year 2s sports day. The children had a great time competing in all the events.
On Monday 2S had a great afternoon working in groups to design, prepare and make a super smoothie. After they had tasted it they then had to evaluate them. A fun time was had by all.
Welcome back everyone! This term is an extremely busy term with children completing lots of special booklets. Please try to make sure your child is in school everyday so they don’t miss any. As well as this, we’ve got lots of fun things planned this term too! Please see our summer term newsletter and learning log for more information!
2S had a great time on World Book Day. They looked fabulous in their Roald Dahl character costumes. Here are a few pictures to show them off. If you see a strange adult in any of them, don’t worry it was just The Grand High Witch from the book The Witches teaching the children that day but luckily the children were on their best behaviour so she didn’t turn any into mice!
2S have been learning the features of Instruction writing: headings, command sentences, bossy verbs, adverbs, time connectives. Now it was time to write a set of instructions on how to make a jam butty but first they had the fun of making one and even better eating it!
This afternoon the children enjoyed investigating the density of different liquids. We poured syrup into the beaker, then added water and oil and observed what happened. Then we added drops of food colouring and salt. This is an activity which you could investigate further at home using different liquids if you wish.
Great fun was had by all at the forest school today. 2S enjoyed den-building, toasting marshmallows in the camp fire and getting muddy. Creativity, communicating and showing resilience were all evident in today’s activities. “Do we have to go?” was the cry when it was time to head back to school. Hope you enjoy the photos!
