A warm welcome to 1H’s class blog.
I hope you find this useful in following us on our exciting Year 1 adventure.
Please find attached our learning log for Spring 2017. This term we will be looking at old and new toys. We would appreciate any photographs/actual toys that you or your family may have played with as children to help support our learning!
Here are some fun games you can play at home to help with phonics, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
All children have now been given their Mathletics log in and password. If you have any problems logging on please let me know. Click the link below to start your challenge.
The sun was shining for Year One’s exciting toy launch day. The children enjoyed playing with their favourite toys and sharing them with their friends.
They looked at the different materials, colours and sizes of their toys and were asked to guess which ones their parents or grandparents might have had when they were young.
Hello Year 1 Parents,
Please find the attached Year 1 newsletter for the Summer Term. It gives you some information about our upcoming phonics screening, our targets for reading and writing and the exciting projects we are working on in Science and in our Creative Curriculum. We are looking forward to all of the adventures we will have in learning this term!
We had a fantastic day visiting the Liverpool Museum to see the Terracotta Warriors. After weeks of researching and learning all about these incredible artifacts the children had the opportunity to see them in real life.
We were also treated to a drama performance about the treasures of ancient China.
An exciting and educating day for all!
Thank you to all those parents who supported their children with their amazing China projects. It was a pleasure to see their creations and learn so many new facts about China. Well done!
Today 1H had some very special visitors in class. After waiting patiently for the ducklings to hatch the children finally got the chance to have a little cuddle with each one. They also enjoyed watching them play in the water and explore the classroom.
A huge thank you to the parents for your efforts for World book Day. The children all looked amazing in their fancy dress costumes and enjoyed getting into character.
Today the children of 1H organised a goodbye party for their friend Sadie. We wish her all the best in her new school and will miss her very much.
Well done to those children in 1S who have completed their homework projects. All the staff are so proud of all the hard work and effort that you have put in. You are all amazing!
Congratulations to 1H for being the ONLY class to achieve above 96% attendance for the Autumn term. As a reward the children were given a small gift to show how proud All Saints is of their achievement.
This week we have been reading The Jolly Postman. The children have enjoyed playing in our class post office, writing postcards and designing our own special edition stamps.
We wrote letters to our parents telling them all about our new class. Our final job was to address the envelope, add a stamp and post the letters ready for our Jolly Postman to deliver to our homes.
We hope you enjoy reading the children’s letters when they arrive home.
