Keeping Control!

We used all of our learning characteristics today in our ICT lesson. We worked in groups to create mazes for our robots to move around so we had to use excellent communication skills. We labelled the right angles and measured the length of each section. We were very creative introducing different obstacles too! We were very independent and resilient in controlling our robots around the mazes. We had so much fun!

Fruit Crumble!

As our new topic is ‘City or Countryside?’ we were curious to  find out about some fruits that could grow in the countryside. Once we’d done our research we used some of the fruits to make a delicious fruit crumble!

How to make jam sandwich!

This week in Year 2 we are learning to write instructions. We pretended that some aliens had visited from out of space and had no idea how to make a jam sandwich! We made our own and then wrote some clear instructions for the aliens. We used time openers, imperative verbs and adverbs!

Delightful Ducklings!

We were very excited today as it was our turn to look after the ducklings!

World Book Day!

Our class story was George’s Marvellous Medicine. We had so much fun deciding on ingredients for our own medicine. Our favourite part of the day was using onomatopoeia to describe the sounds of the potion bubbling away.

Cornish Pasty!

We are turning into quite the chefs! Have a look at our photographs to see us making some delicious Cornish pasties this morning!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

We had so much fun on our recent trip to Gilmoss Recycling Centre. We found out what happens to all our recycling and learnt lots of new information about which things we can and can’t recycle!

Come Fly With Me…

We had a fun day pretending we flew all the way to Australia to visit the different types of places. We visited the busy city of Sydney, the beautiful Surfer’s Paradise and the hot, dry outback. We came up with lots of adjectives and sentences to describe each place. Then we wrote postcards telling our friends all about it!

Maths Math Maths!

We’ve been very busy in maths the last couple of weeks! We have been multiplying and dividing. Take a look at our pictures…
