All Saints Catholic Primary School

P.E. & Sport

At All Saints we aim to promote health, exercise and competition throughout all key stages. Our WOW – ‘Work Out Wednesday’ project has been underway for two years now with the children arriving in their All Saints tracksuit ready for sports, activity and fun.

Our children will experience a full range of activities, developing their skills and abilities, over their time at All Saints.

We are supported in our delivery of PE by the Liverpool School Sports Partnership (LSSP) and the Liverpool Football Club (LFC) foundation coaches as part of the ‘On the Ball’ project.

Additionally, through our links with many sporting organisations our children have the opportunity to participate in Outdoor Education residentials in Year 2,4 and 6, Kayaking at the Liverpool Watersports Centre, and Bouldering at the Climbing Hanger to name but a few.

We have recently been awarded the GOLD standard as part of the Government’s PE and Sports Kitemark; we have also been short- listed for the Merseyside Sports School of the Year award in 2013 and 2015.

Our detailed ‘On the Ball’ brochure which encapsulates all we wish to achieve through health and well-being teaching, will be available shortly for download.

Please see yearly timetables below for PE sessions starting in September 2016. Any changes will be updated to the website.

Little LFC Legends

Five of our boys were lucky enough to attend Anfield this week to play mini LFC and Real Madrid Legends. The boys got to re-create classic goals, give a press conference and meet the stars themselves. It was in preparation for the LFC vs Real Madrid Legends match in March. The five boys will be mascots for the match too. They also appeared on Sky Sports News, The Echo and LFC TV. For more on the story please visit the link below.

Liverpool vs Leeds

Some of our children were lucky enough to attend the League Cup match between LFC and Leeds United. They had a ball and were invited to the ‘Beats’ hospitality lounge before and after the game. Mr Farrell and Mr Ralston accompanied the group and let them loose with the camera. Have a look at our videos below.

Olympic Athlete Sponsorship

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the day and raised sponsorship money for the day. As a school we raised an incredible £1,887.83. A special mention to Daniel K in year 3 who raised £167 on his own! A portion of this money will go towards helping British Athletes in the future and the rest will go on new sports equipment for the school. Well done everyone!

Olympic Athlete Visits All Saints

On Thursday 11th February 2016, Olympic Gymnast Hannah Whelan came to All Saints to assist children in a fitness circuit and give a motivational assembly. Every class in the school from reception up got to meet Hannah. It was great to see so many children enjoy the day and in particular the exercise circuit. The message from the day was that sport can be enjoyed by all but to aspire to be the best you need to work hard and train every day. Hannah herself commented on how smart all the children looked in their tracksuits and was very impressed by a couple of our own Y6 gymnasts. Please have a look at our photos from the day below.
