Sierra Leone

Early this morning 6 members of staff set off on their journey to visit our partners at FANO School in Waterloo, Sierra Leone. We wish them a safe journey and look forward to hearing about the work they will have done in helping to train the teachers there when we return after the half term break. We take for granted that our children will arrive in school everyday and receive high quality education with all resources readily available to support them in their learning. In FANO the children are proud to attend school and arrive looking smart in their uniform, eager to learn. Staff at the school work hard with very limited resources, even paper and pencils are in short supply! Our school has donated reading books this time and teachers are travelling with heavy bags full of books to help improve the levels of literacy at the school and in the local community. Many thanks for supporting our fund-raising efforts,  the money will be used directly to support FANO school. Previously you have helped to build new classrooms and provided financial support to buy much needed equipment for the children.

The latest updates will be posted on their return.
